Korean Skincare Routine for Oily Skin
The information becoming overwhelming, and for some, they are just sharing to catch up with a trend, but this becomes a cost for the ones who are looking for genuine creators who share genuine reviews of the Korean products.
What makes this blog different, is that I took time to go through the active ingredients to pick on what is good for an oily skin, I personally have a very oily skin, I could just wash my face in the morning with water, and 2 hours later, my forehead is shiny.
Having an oily, means you need to know the kind of products to use and which not to use too often, so we're gonna go in steps, on how to have a Korean skincare Routine that actually does the jobKOREAN CLEANSING
Double Cleansing
This is a two-step facial washing method, originating in Korean skincare, that uses an oil-based cleanser first to dissolve makeup, sunscreen, and sebum, followed by a water-based cleanser to wash away impurities, dirt, and sweat, ensuring a deeper, more thorough clean that allows other skincare products to penetrate better.
My recommendation: Anua - Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil
Exfoliating Your Skin
This is going to sound 'unpopular' but for an oily skin, you need to exfoliate 3–4 times a week, which helps in removing excess sebum and dead skin cells, preventing clogged pores and acne.
We have the tendency of buying any skincare products, because an influencer said it works, then we get exhausted and thing that skincare is a scam. But the truth is that, no product is getting in your skin, to help work on it, so it becomes zero work.
Key products include chemical exfoliants like: AHA, BHA, PHA these are chemical exfoliants used to remove dead skin cells and improve skin texture, but they differ in strength and suitability.
- AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids) are water-soluble for surface exfoliation and anti-aging,
- BHAs (beta-hydroxy acids) are oil-soluble for deep pore cleaning
- PHAs (poly-hydroxy acids) are gentle, hydrating, and ideal for sensitive skin.
My recommendation: The Anua - Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam

How to Double Cleanse
- Start with the oil cleanser, to remove the sebum and the make up, and the sunscreen, because all these products are oil soluble
- Emulsify while oil cleansing, this is just adding a little bit of water, which will make the mixture look milky
- Then rinse everything off with lukewarm water
- Then take the cleansing foam, put a pea size on your hand, then add very little water so that the foam is created, then go with the foam on your face
- Leave the foam for 3 minutes, then rinse

KOREAN SERUMS
- Acne Breakouts and Clogged Pores: Excess oil traps dead skin cells, bacteria, and dirt, causing frequent blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples.
- Enlarged Pores: The excessive production of sebum can stretch out pores, making them appear larger and more visible.
- A "Vicious Cycle" of Over-cleansing: The frustration of the shine often leads people to wash their face too frequently or with harsh products, which strips the skin and triggers even more oil production.
- Post Acne Marks: These form when the acne has died down, and left a black spot, and can lead to hyperpigmentation
- Whiteheads: Result from excess sebum, dead skin cells, and bacteria clogging pores, often appearing in the T-zone.
Korean Day Serums
- Sebum regulation: 2% Niacinamide and 0.5% BHA work together to control excess oil and reduce shine.
- Pore and acne care: BHA gently exfoliates to unclog pores while 60% Propolis Extract kills bacteria and reduces acne-related inflammation.
- Hydrating your skin without oiliness: Delivers a moisturizing, dewy finish without clogging pores or feeling greasy.
- Skin repair: Helps fade acne scars and improves uneven skin tone
Korean Night Serums
- Strengthens and repairs the skin barrier.
- Reduces acne, promotes faster healing and reduces the appearance of pore
- Controls excess sebum

How much sunscreen is enough? For face and neck you want to use the two fingers technique... not a pea size or a dot or a light layer
